How to bridge the gap in May 2023?

The calendar is rather well done for french people this year as you will be able to enjoy long weekends in May thanks to public holidays. For example, a three-day weekend from Saturday 29 April to Monday 1 May 2023: three days off to take advantage of the mild spring weather and celebrate Labour Day in the right way by resting! Then the following week, it’s the same thing again, a long weekend from Saturday 6 May to Monday 8 May 2023. Perfect for a good night’s rest or for visiting new places. Want to get away from it all? Why not take an extra Friday off and take a real break.

In May 2023, you can also take days off to bridge the gap: by taking Friday 19 May off, you will have an extra long weekend of 4 days from Thursday 18 May to Sunday 21 May 2023. Another date to remember is Whit Monday on Monday 29 May 2023, which will allow some people who do not work on Whit to enjoy a final 3-day weekend.

Public holidays in summer 2023: Reminder!

This summer, the French bank holidays falls on Friday 14 July 2023. A nice 3-day weekend in prospect. In August, the Assumption Day falls on Tuesday 15 August 2023: don’t miss out on Monday 14 August to win a nice 4-day weekend.

Whatever your summer holiday dates are, make a note of these public holidays to plan your holiday and make the best days around them.

Public Holidays 2023: Autumn – Winter

This autumn 2023, All Saints’ Day is set for Wednesday 1 November 2023, so if you put down Thursday 2 and Friday 3 November, you could have a 5 day break! This will be followed by Armistice Day on Saturday 18 November 2023 and then, to close the year, Christmas Day on Monday 25 December 2023.

Note: New Year’s Day 2024 will also fall on a certain Monday: Monday 1 January 2024!

This means another 3-day weekend as a bonus.

So we can say that 2023 is a great year in terms of public holidays!
