How to optimize your holidays using the public holidays of 2026?

Holidays and long weekends are essential rest periods to disconnect from screens and reconnect with family or friends. That’s why we’re offering you an article to help you make the most of your vacation days in 2026.

How to take these vacation days in 2026?

You have several three- or four-day weekends ahead:

  • New Year’s Day (January 1st, 2026): Take Friday, January 2, 2026 off to enjoy 4 consecutive days of rest, starting on the evening of December 31 and lasting until January 4. (The school term resumes on January 5, 2026.)
  • Easter holidays (Monday, April 6, 2026): You get a 3-day weekend without taking any vacation days.
  • The month of May [4 days in the month: Friday May 1st, Friday May 8, Thursday May 14, Monday May 25] is the month to take time off: If you take 4 days off (from May 4, 2026 to May 7, 2026), you can enjoy 9 days of rest (from May 1st, 2026 to May 10, 2026). You also get a 4-day weekend if you take Friday, May 15 off. Finally, there is one last 3-day weekend without taking any days off.
  • July 2026 (public holiday on July 14): By taking Monday, July 13 off, enjoy 4 consecutive days of rest, from Saturday, July 11 to Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
  • November 2026 (public holiday on Wednesday, November 11): Armistice Day falls on a Wednesday; the ideal option is to take 2 days off (Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10) and enjoy a 5-day break.
